Waxing Crescent Moon Near Mars

Tuesday evening May 7th the 3-day old waxing crescent Moon will be about 3-4o from the ‘Red Planet’ Mars. Both will be above the western horizon at sunset local time. The Moon will be close enough to Mars such that they will fit within the field of view of 7×50 binoculars.
