Mercury at Greatest North Latitude

15apr-mercury   Friday April 15th the innermost planet Mercury reaches its greatest latitude north of the plane of the ecliptic. In less than a month the planet will have moved south relative to the ecliptic and will be crossing the ecliptic on May 9th setting up a transit by Mercury across the Sun.
