In your Face, Bull!

Saturday morning August 8th get up before sunrise and look toward the southern horizon for the 24 day old waning crescent Moon to appear to be smacking Taurus the Bull on the nose. Seriously, the Moon is near the the V-shaped open star cluster, The Hyades, and below the other open star cluster in Taurus, The Pleiades.

Caution: Objects viewed with an optical aid are further than they appear.
