Saturn – Moon Conjunction

8apr-bino   Wednesday morning April 8th the waning gibbous Moon will come within 2-3o from the planet Saturn. Both will be near the upper pincer of the Scorpion, or the ‘t-bar’ part of the letter J-shaped asterism. This part of the sky, near the scorpion’s stinger contains the Milky Way and were the Moon not so bright or if it were located elsewhere then the Milky Way could be seen stretching up toward the northeast.
