Astrophotography vs. Monsoon Season

31july-crescent-moon   Guess who wins?
The day started overcast, got very threatening late in the afternoon with lightning and thunder in the mountains to the north and east but nothing made it into the valley where I am staying. Then it cleared up with scattered clouds giving me an opportunity to take a few pictures of the crescent Moon – and the hope for clear skies later when it was dark. Not necessarily for Moon pictures but for pictures of the Andromeda Galaxy, summer triangle, and other stuff. So I went back inside to wait a couple of hours for the skies to darken.

Caution: Objects viewed with an optical aid are further than they appear.
